We support the circular economy

Sustainability

We are naturally attentive to the sustainability of our organic pasta and to the mark we leave on the community and the environment.

We were named Fair Economy Ambassadors in 2020 and we also adhere to the UN 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

Girolomoni sustainability in 6 points

  1. 1. Common Good

We are a farmers’ cooperative and as such we work in the interests of our member farmers and the common good.

  2. 2. People at the centre

We believe in the contribution of each person and support their personal and professional growth. We operate with respect for the well-being of each of our people and their families.

  3. 3. Traceable supply chain and fai trade relationships

We work exclusively with certified organic farms, favouring local ones, 70% of which are in our region.

We guarantee an above-market grain price while providing farmers with support in managing their fields.

  4. 4. Open doors

For over thirty years we have been welcoming visitors and interested parties, transparently providing information about our way of working, practising dialogue and collaboration.

  5. 5. 100% Eco-friendly

100% organic is the starting point.

Renewable energies, protection of biodiversity and soil fertility, local synergy: one choice a day, we aim for a 100% eco friendly.

  6. 6. Rural renaissance

Through organic farming and the development of a new rural culture, we aim to achieve the rebirth and evolution of our territory.

This is why we take part in many initiatives, collaborating with public bodies, universities and local associations.

Our sustainable packaging choices

Packaging represents the final link in our organic pasta supply chain.

To ‘close the circle’ in a sustainable manner, we also manage this step directly, using environmentally friendly materials and packaging methods with the lowest possible impact.

We have chosen paper for our packaging, identifying two types of packaging for our two main lines:

For our organic durum wheat pasta, our most affordable range, we have chosen a Terpap reel:

  • 100% paper from responsibly managed forests
  • Certified class ‘A’ Aticelca
  • Printed using only water-based, solvent-free inks and heat-sealing lacquers

For our Grani Antichi organic pasta, our most precious range, we have chosen a paper bag:

  • 100% recyclable
  • From responsibly managed forests
  • With separable window made of cellulose film (Natureflex), can be disposed of with organic waste

The window, applied to the register to avoid waste, enhances the texture and colour of our ancient grain pastas, doing justice to the richness of nuances that we wanted to bring to your table.
